There are many things to consider when making a decision to move yourself or a family member into a private care home, including understanding the type of care

needed, whether you or your family member will be happy there and also how to pay for your life in the care home.

We understand that sometimes it’s difficult to know where to start and the thought of paying for care can seem daunting.

Weekly fees

At our care homes we have a set weekly fee. This is the same, regardless of your level of care needs therefore you can be sure that there are never hidden costs. Many care homes operate in  slightly different way, where you are charged depending on your care requirements. We believe that this adds unnecessary uncertainty and anxiety for you.

Weekly fees include everything from care and medical provision, to meals, snacks, accommodation and activities. Some services, such as hairdressing, or reading material such as a favourite newspaper, will be extra, but we will always be very clear about what is and what is not included.

Funding your life in a care home

It is important to ensure that you have the funds required to maintain your life in our care homes, as moving into a care home is hopefully the beginning of a new and fulfilling chapter in your life. We will always discuss your financial and care circumstances with sensitivity- our managers are here to help and discuss every aspect of your move.

The majority of our residents will fund their care themselves from savings and investments. Depending on your circumstances, you may be able to benefit from NHS funding if you have very complex needs, or Local Authority Funding supplemented contributions from family or friends. Please do get in touch and we can go through all of the options with you to help with your decisions.
